Tropical pitcher plant unique to the Philippines. Renowned for its exceptionally large pitchers, rivaling those of N. rajah, this species is predominantly found in the northern and central regions of Mindanao, as well as in adjacent areas like Dinagat and Samar.Nepenthes merrilliana thrives in coastal forests along steep slopes, ranging from sea level up to 1100 meters. It is closely related to  nepenthes surigaoensis.
