Drosera callistos

Drosera callistos is a beautiful pygmy sundew native to the sandy heathlands of southwestern Australia. Despite its tiny size, it forms a striking rosette covered in ruby-red tentacles with sticky dew like enzyme. These glistening glands attract, capture, and digest small insects, allowing the plant to thrive in nutrient-poor soils.

During the growing season, Drosera callistos produces attractive white to pale pink flowers that rise above the foliage on slender stalks, adding even more charm to this miniature carnivorous plant. Like other pygmy sundews, it reproduces by producing gemmae—tiny vegetative propagules that can be used to grow new plants.

This species prefers bright light, excellent drainage, and pure water. It is an excellent choice for windowsills, terrariums with good ventilation, or outdoor collections in suitable climates. Its compact size makes it perfect for small pots and pygmy sundew collections.
